Enjoying Coffee

Coffee Culture – why the use ? Well ! the explosion of the modern coffee culture is based on the combination of both Italian and British/American influences. By Italian, I mean, most modern coffee shops will dare not open or offer coffee without the usual espresso or cappuccino on their menu books and as coffee in Italian is “caffe”, I thought it best to give credit to the Italians. As for culture, a very English word, it originated from the way the English took to coffee in the 1700s. Too lazy to make coffee at home, cafes in London spread like wild fire as cafes became a place to meet and learn – sounds familiar ? It has been propelled more recently by Starbucks and Starbucks look-a-likes as decors become more cosy and promote that home-away-from-home feel.

Under coffee culture, there are 2 sections taking the theme further. For “Drinking coffee around the world” I share with you how coffee is drunk in some parts of the world and under “Bean There”, one of the highlights of this site, I share with you my experiences of visiting cafes across the world.

Under coffee cup, I ask you to let your imagination run wild and share some tested recipes celebrating “coffee culture” so anything to do with coffee, cakes, sandwiches, smoothies, teas and other drinks. Under the Art of Coffee, I share pictures of coffee and coffee related themes, which can be viewed as a slide show and if you really love them, downloaded as a screen saver. As for making coffee @ home, I’ll share the basics of how to make the popular coffee drinks in a home environment – experts might laugh at some of the stuff, but I’m trying to reach out at those just starting, not people with degrees in coffee making, so bear with me.

I finish off with “so how much do you love” a short and honest account of taking your passion further, setting up a café, with some insightful tips and references, which under the coffee network might also prove helpful.
