Coffee cabinet

A coffee cabinet is an ice-based drinks were almost exclusively in Rhode Iceland and southeastern Massachusetts. In this region, a milkshake is just flavored milk, while a cabinet flavor ice cream and syrup has it too. A coffee cabinet is a combination of coffee ice cream with coffee syrup and milk. The ingredients are mixed in a blender drink or a milkshake.

In recent years it is increasingly difficult to find an authentic wardrobe, but many dairies Rhode Iceland, nor serve them, including the Delekta Pharmacy in Warren, and the original Vanilla Bean in South Kingstown. Newport Creamery, a chain of family restaurants almost exclusively found in Rhode Iceland, cabinets used under a name other than "Awful Awful" (elsewhere in New England known as a Frappe) known.

As with downcity, the etymology of this term is unknown. One common, but unsubstantiated explanation is that the soda jerk or pharmacist kept the coffee syrup in one of the polished wooden cabinets behind the counter.

An alternative etymological theory, but unfounded, is derived from the distinctive local accent Rhode Iceland and southeastern Massachusetts. Like the famous Boston accent is more, this emphasis tends to "r" the fall, but sounds a little different. "Auto" is pronounced "CAH" in Boston, but rather as "CAA" in Rhode Iceland. "Carbonate" (soda) can be pronounced more like "closet". It is therefore possible that the word "closet" may originally have referred to an ice cream soda.
